PASTOR’S UPDATE, AUGUST 8, 2020

TOMORROW’S WORSHIP SERVICE (AUGUST 9) will take place inside our church sanctuary. Join us at 10:00 a.m.

TITHES AND OFFERINGS are notably down in most churches due to COVID 19, and FBC Gatlinburg is no exception. As the pandemic results in decreased church attendance and lower personal income for many, please continue to remember the financial needs of our congregation. Thank you.

OUR MONTHLY DEACONS MEETING is this Wednesday, August 12 in our Fellowship Hall. One topic of discussion will be our recent INFORMATIONAL SURVEY concerning drive in/inside worship.

OUR JULY LOCAL MISSIONS OFFERING final total will be announced soon. Thanks to all who gave!

ONGOING INFORMATION BELOW: Opportunities to View Worship Recordings; Coronavirus Worship Guidelines; Website Reminder: fbcgatlinburg.org.

***** TITHES AND OFFERINGS OPTIONS *****

THE U.S. POST OFFICE. Mail your offering to:
First Baptist Church
P.O. Box 347
Gatlinburg, TN. 37738

HAND DELIVERY. Bring your offering to our church office Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

AUTOMATIC BANK DRAFT FROM YOUR OWN BANK.
The availability of this giving method was brought to my attention by Jim and Susan Williams who visit with us regularly. This method utilizes the BILL PAY option of your personal bank account. Simply contact your bank and tell them you want to make a regular (monthly / weekly) or one-time donation to FBC Gatlinburg. Your bank will set things up and mail a check to the church in accordance with your specified date and amount. Some of you will be able to set this up yourselves by going online to your bank account. You will need to supply the church address which appears below under U.S. POST OFFICE.

AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWAL BY THE CHURCH.
This differs from the Bank Draft method above in that you will fill out a DEBIT AUTHORIZATION form authorizing the church to transfer funds from your personal bank account to the church’s contributions account. The form is self-explanatory and should be mailed to or dropped off at our church office. Your gift can be a one-time donation, or you can set up regular weekly or monthly donations. The church’s bank (SmartBank) will transfer the funds according to your form information. By the way, some of you, even before the Coronavirus Pandemic, were asking about a way to make automatic donations. The DEBIT AUTHORIZATION form is an easy way to do that. Forms have been emailed to all the email addresses we currently have on file. You can also pick up a form at the church office or call the office to have a from emailed to you.

HALLELUJA -- WE ARE BACK IN OUR SANCTUARY. Please join us in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. this Sunday morning. We still need to observe social distancing practices. Please see the Church Newsletter for social distancing details.

Gatlinburg is one of the most visited destinations in America. The Smoky Mountains are one of God's most beautiful creations.

We invite you to join us as we worship God at First Baptist Church of Gatlinburg.

Once we are able to meet again in our sanctuary we will return to our normal schedule which is:

On Sunday mornings we offer two services. Our Horizon Service is at 8:45 featuring a contemporary praise and music.  Our Heritage service is at 11:00 where we sing traditional hymns along with our choir

Both services provide an inspiring message from God's word.  In between these services, at 9:45, is our Sunday School hour, offering biblical teaching for all ages.
