***** OUR LOCAL MISSIONS OFFERING *****
began last Sunday and continues through the end of July. This annual Offering is usually received in June but was delayed this year due to COVID 19. Supported ministries include the Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic, Sevier County Food Ministry, Smoky Mountain Area Rescue Ministries, Smoky Mountain Resort Ministry, and the Sevier County Baptist Disaster Relief Program. Your gifts will also provide assistance through our church as we minister to those who come in for food and gas vouchers and other kinds of help. This year’s goal $3,500. Special offering envelopes are available throughout our church building. Please give generously as we work together to fulfill Jesus’ mandate to go into all the world by giving attention to the needs of hurting people closest to us.

***** WORSHIP UPDATE *****
Thankfully, we have seen a decrease in the number of COVID 19 cases in Sevier County over the last few days. We are continuing to meet indoors for Sunday worship while encouraging worshippers to follow the Worship Guidelines which appear below. Shortly after the conclusion of worship, services will be posted on YouTube and Facebook. We discovered this week that the airing of our Sunday services on Spectrum Cable Community TV channel 193 has changed from 1:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Services are also aired at 7:00 p.m. For the immediate future we will continue to gather at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday. We are not currently having Sunday School, childcare, or Wednesday evening activities. We will be monitoring the virus situation to determine when these and other church gatherings can safely resume. I hope to see you Sunday.

***** RECORDINGS OF SUNDAY SERVICES *****
are posted on YouTube and Facebook shortly after the conclusion of each Sunday’s worship service. Services are also broadcast on Sundays on Spectrum Cable Community TV channel 193 at 12:30 p.m. (moved from 1:30) and 7:00 p.m.

***** TITHES AND OFFERINGS UPDATE *****
During the COVID 19 crises we continue to fall short of meeting our weekly budget. Please remember that faithful stewardship through your church remains vital to our work.

***** YOUTH GATHERING ON JULY 15 *****
Various Youth and their families are delivering for our Sevier Co. Food Ministry on Wednesday evenings during July. Other Youth are gathering to work on landscaping around our new building. A brief devotion and pizza in the pavilion concludes the activities.

***** LOVE OFFERING FOR DEONTAE REDMOND *****

As previously announced, Deontae Redmond, son of our Church Secretary Cindy Redmond, was seriously injured recently when his car was struck by a driver under the influence. Deontae just completed his freshman year at Carson-Newman. After surgery on both broken legs and his back Deontae was transferred this week to Patricia Neal Rehab center where he will remain for three to four weeks. If you would like to financially assist Deontae and Cindy with the many expenses being incurred, submit your gift in the offering plate or by any of the giving options listed below.

***** CLIMATE CONTROL EXPENDITURE *****

In a called Church Conference following our June 17 worship service, our church approved a motion from our Deacons that our cooling tower be repaired at a cost not to exceed 34,000.00. Work will be done by Cherokee Group, and the cost will be paid from our Emergency Fund invested with the Tn. Baptist Foundation.

***** TITHES AND OFFERINGS OPTIONS *****

WORSHIP GATHERINGS: Now that we are gathering inside again for a Sunday worship service, you can place your tithes and offerings in the offering plate in our sanctuary entranceway as you exit the worship service.

THE U.S. POST OFFICE. Mail your offering to:
First Baptist Church
P.O. Box 347
Gatlinburg, TN. 37738

HAND DELIVERY. Bring your offering to our church office Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

AUTOMATIC BANK DRAFT FROM YOUR OWN BANK.
The availability of this giving method was brought to my attention by Jim and Susan Williams who visit with us regularly. This method utilizes the BILL PAY option of your personal bank account. Simply contact your bank and tell them you want to make a regular (monthly / weekly) or one-time donation to FBC Gatlinburg. Your bank will set things up and mail a check to the church in accordance with your specified date and amount. Some of you will be able to set this up yourselves by going online to your bank account. You will need to supply the church address which appears below under U.S. POST OFFICE.

AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWAL BY THE CHURCH.
This differs from the Bank Draft method above in that you will fill out a DEBIT AUTHORIZATION form authorizing the church to transfer funds from your personal bank account to the church’s contributions account. The form is self-explanatory and should be mailed to or dropped off at our church office. Your gift can be a one-time donation, or you can set up regular weekly or monthly donations. The church’s bank (SmartBank) will transfer the funds according to your form information. By the way, some of you, even before the Coronavirus Pandemic, were asking about a way to make automatic donations. The DEBIT AUTHORIZATION form is an easy way to do that. Forms have been emailed to all the email addresses we currently have on file. You can also pick up a form at the church office or call the office to have a from emailed to you.

HALLELUJA -- WE ARE BACK IN OUR SANCTUARY. Please join us in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. this Sunday morning. We still need to observe social distancing practices. Please see the Church Newsletter for social distancing details.

Gatlinburg is one of the most visited destinations in America. The Smoky Mountains are one of God's most beautiful creations.

We invite you to join us as we worship God at First Baptist Church of Gatlinburg.

Once we are able to meet again in our sanctuary we will return to our normal schedule which is:

On Sunday mornings we offer two services. Our Horizon Service is at 8:45 featuring a contemporary praise and music.  Our Heritage service is at 11:00 where we sing traditional hymns along with our choir

Both services provide an inspiring message from God's word.  In between these services, at 9:45, is our Sunday School hour, offering biblical teaching for all ages.
